Biography

Dr. Weijun Luo got his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry at Boston University in United States, and his M.A.Sc (research-track) degree in semiconductor engineering at the University of British Columbia in Canada. His doctoral research studied the optical response of single photon emission and lattice vibration using micro-photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy. He also studied the lattice vibrational properties, and electronic structures of low-dimensional material systems via density functional theory approaches. His master's research studied atom diffusion in bulk structures via the classical diffusion models and molecular dynamics simulation approaches. He also studied the lattice vibrational properties of strained SiGe and layered Van der Waals semiconductors using micro-photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy.
