Biography

My research projects revolve around my ontological assumption that there are multiple views of reality, diverse ways of being and understanding. How reality is perceived depends on the internal reality of our subjective experience, known through empathy and observer subjectivity, as well as through interpretation. My epistemological and ontological assumptions inform the theoretical paradigm of critical realism I feel most connected to. A meta-theoretical paradigm in which the school of thought known as Hermeneutic Phenomenology provides a means in which I can explore the what, how and why of peoples lived experiences within my disciplinary field of expertise, Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Most often within the theoretical perspective of Systems Psychodynamics. Other theoretical perspectives I find myself working in are Socio-analytic methods, qualitive well-being and adjustment and Afrocentrism.
