Biography
My scientific research and technical skills are mainly related to crystal growth of bulk crystals and epitaxial layers from high temperature solutions. My expertise is focalized in the definition of thermochemical systems, the research and optimization of the physical-chemical parameters that affects the growth kinetics and the growth of large size and high crystalline quality single crystals. These activities lead to the development of unique experimental devices to measure in situ thermochemical parameters (solubility curves of the solute by liquid phase extraction at high temperature), physical-chemical parameters (viscosity, density and superficial tension of the growth solutions) and kinetics (monocrystal thermogravimetric device).
My expertise also covers crystallographic orientation and shaping of crystals in the needed orientation and shapes for their optical and piezoelectric characterizations mainly.
