Biography

I'm an anthropologist, ethnomusicologist and musician. I conducted field research in Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia. My research project focuses on musical and poetic expressions of self-sacrifice in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle-East and Caucasus. I also play (and occasionally teach) Eastern Mediterranean musics and Javanese gamelan.
