Biography
Guan Jian-long, M.D., Ph.D., chief physician, Professor, doctoral supervisor and post-doctoral cooperation supervisor; Deputy director of rheumatic immune and allergic disease research center of Fudan University; Member of the Standing Committee of the vasculitis group of the Chinese Medical Association, vice chairman of the rheumatology branch of the Shanghai Medical Association and Vice chairman of Shanghai rheumatology society of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine; Head of Behçet’s disease group of Shanghai Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
In 2011, Professor Guan took the lead in establishing the Department of Rheumatology and immunology of Huadong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, committed to the clinical research of Behçet’s disease (Behçet’s Syndrome, BS) and created discipline characteristics. In 1937, Behçet’s disease was named the triple Syndrome of "oral ulcer, genital lesion and hypopyon". Since then, a series of visceral lesions in BS patients have been found, including central nervous system, heart, blood vessels, gastrointestinal tract and blood. In 2021, Professor Guan led the Huadong Behçet’s disease team to take the dividing Behçet’s disease into 8 clinical phenotypes for typing diagnosis. McHugh J wrote a Research Highlights “different phenotypes identified for Behçet’s syndrome” in Nat Rev Rheumatol in April 2021, and consider the phenotypes diagnosis of Behçet’s disease by Professor Guan has an important clinical significance.
As the chief multidisciplinary expert of Behçet’s disease, Professor Guan cooperates across regions, hospitals and Clinical profession, and cooperates with other experts in internal medicine, ophthalmology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, imaging, dermatology, nutrition, endoscopy and pathology to adopt highly individualized and accurate treatment. It also led 28 domestic experts to formulate the "expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of Behçet’s syndrome in China with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine • 2020". In 2021, Professor Guan published the rare monograph "new concept of Behçet’s disease" since the establishment of the Chinese rheumatology society in 1985.
Professor Guan as Editor in chief of three monographs, including《ten years of osteoarthritis in China》,《clinical practice guide of Rheumatology》and《new concept of Behçet’s disease》, and participated in the compilation of more than 30 works; He has published more than 200 papers and more than 60 SCI papers. Responsible for 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, key projects of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, scientific and technological innovation project of Shanghai Shenkang on phenotypes diagnosis of Behçet’s disease , and key research projects of Shanghai Health Commission on Behçet’s disease, etc.
Professor Guan has won the first prize of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress award, the second prize of excellent invention award, the advanced individual in the fight against SARS in Beijing China capital, the advanced individual in infection control in Xiaotangshan Hospital. And won the title of "medical talent" issued by China Medical Association and China Medical Promotion Association.
