Biography

I am a parasitology professor-researcher fascinated by the study of Myxozoa. I have been working with myxosporeans infecting economically important fish species from the Amazon and São Francisco river ecosystems, as well as commercial fish farms located in my home country of Brazil. My experience in this field includes molecular and phylogenetic techniques and analysis of host-parasite interactions (including ultrastructure characteristics and histopathology) of myxozoans in fish hosts.
