Biography

Dr. Augustine is an Assistant Professor of Justice Studies at San José State University. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine where she also received her M.A., and obtained her B.A. from New York University. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UCSF with the Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative. Her work broadly examines punishment and inequality, with emphases on prison incarceration, reentry, homelessness, and employment.
