Biography

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Dresden, Germany.
My research interests focus on Cloud Computing, Distributed systems, Big Data Analytics, and Confidential Computing, and I have published over 50 research papers, including high-indexed SCI journal publications. Notably, I received the prestigious President's Award for Scientific Research from the National Research Council of Sri Lanka in 2019 for one of my publications.
With over twelve years of academic and professional experience, I have served as a Senior Lecturer at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, where I taught courses in Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, and Information Systems. I have also supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate students, fostering their academic and research development. Additionally, I completed the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE), organized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, which is recognized as a qualification for university academic staff. Furthermore, I have enhanced my pedagogical skills through several teaching methodology courses via the Saxon Higher Education Didactics Certificate program, enabling me to create effective learning environments across various subjects. My professional journey has also included several administrative roles within the university sector, contributing to the management and development of academic programs.
I am currently involved in the NEARDATA EU project, which aims to establish an extreme data infrastructure that mediates data flows between Object Storage and Data Analytics platforms across the Compute Continuum. Additionally, I am working on implementing secure federated learning using Confidential computing, further enhancing our Extreme Near-Data Processing Platform.
