Biography

Xènia Pérez Sitjà holds a BSc in Biomedicine and an MSc in Science Communication. She has worked on Horizon 2020 projects for almost six years, as both a freelance science communicator and an in-house outreach expert.

In parallel, Xènia has worked for the private sector for two years creating, organising and leading the programmes of big expos, conferences and small, international meetings in the fields of Pharma, cybersecurity and Big Data.

Throughout all her experiences, engagement and coordination have been at the core of her skill set to attract thought leaders and build a community of experts. Likewise, Xenia's work has always had strong ties with research data and data management, from her early introduction to Big Data conferences to her current role as Data Stewardship Community Manager.

She currently coordinates the ELIXIR-UK DaSH project where she acts as co-project manager, community coordinator, outreach specialist and team manager.
