Biography
Francisco holds dual PhDs in Physics (Le Mans Université, France) and Nanoscience & Nanotechnology (Cinvestav, Mexico). His research has focuses on the synthesis and characterization of hybrid nanostructures, particularly TiO₂ and graphene oxide (GO) composites, to optimize photocatalysis and adsorption for water treatment. He has also worked with ZnO and BiVO₄ for organic pollutant degradation and ZrO₂ stabilized with Y₂O₃ as environmental barriers. Francisco also conducts theoretical studies using density functional theory (DFT) on TiO₂, GO, and metal halide perovskites (MHP). Currently, he develops nanomaterials derived from waste or biomass for innovative water contaminant removal applications.
Francisco has presented his work at international conferences Europe and Latin America and, in 2023, expanded his expertise in DFT calculations as a visiting scholar at Jan Dlugosz University, Poland. Since 2021, he has authored/co-authored several publications in journals, including Elsevier, Springer US and IEEE. Francisco applies nanotechnology to develop solutions for water remediation and environmental protection.
