Biography
Ana Cátia Ferreira is a PhD student, Communication Sciences at Fernando Pessoa University (Porto, Portugal). She holds a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and works as a researcher at the Institute of Communication of NOVA (ICNOVA). Her research interests include children's journalism and its history, productive and editorial routines, news literacy and specialized journalism. She is a founding member of COLO - Professional Collective of Children Journalism (Brasil) and a member of SOPCOM - Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences. Master in Marketing at IPAM Porto (2011) and degree in Specialised Studies in International Journalism at Escola Superior de Jornalismo at Porto (1999), with specialization in Children as Consumers at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (2021) and posgraduated studies in Brand Communication at IPAM Porto (2010) and Edition: Books and New Digital Media at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Lisbon (2007). She has worked as a journalist and editor in projects in newspapers and magazines in Portugal (press card C-3251 A) and interned at a local radio. She is a certified trainer with CCP certification no. F716511/2021 and CCPFC/RFO-41494/22 (A110 Science of Communication and A147 Journalism) and Media Literacy & Journalism. She has Mastery of English (2003). Volunteer in Compromissum-Volunteer Center in the areas of education and culture for children.
