Bheemaiah Chikondra

Biography

Dr. Bheemaiah Chikondra, Member, IEEE received the B.tech and M.tech degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from JNTUH Hyderabad, India, in 2012 and 2016, respectively, and received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, India, in 2021. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Electronics and IT Engineering at Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in 2021-2022 and a post-doctoral research fellow in the department of electrical engineering and computer science at Khalifa University, UAE 2022-2023. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor in the Dept. of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Jais, India.

Dr. Chikondra is the recipient of the 2022 IEEE Outstanding Paper Award for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He has also received the best poster presentation award in RSD-2020 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna.

His research interests include control of electrical drives, modulation strategies for multiphase motor drives, fault-tolerant direct torque control, electric vehicle control and fault-tolerant operation, battery management systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, as well as EV fault-diagnosis based on AI and machine learning approaches.
