Biography

My heart is in my work. As a Livestock Research Scientist with over 8 years of experience in animal behavior and welfare research, I specialize in developing and testing innovative solutions to enhance the reproduction, growth performance, health, and welfare of beef cattle and sheep. Some of my previous research focused on pain mitigation post-castration and lameness, stress reduction, and overall animal health improvement. I prioritize creating low-cost management practices easily adopted by producers or validating emerging technologies that improve animal health, welfare, production efficiency, and/or environmental sustainability. I lead professional researchers, technicians, and students in both field and lab settings, with applied research that has significantly shaped best practices in the beef industry in Western Canada. Driven by a passion for animal welfare, I excel at guiding projects from concept to completion, consistently meeting deadlines with energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence.
