Biography
Gennaro Ariante was born on February 7, 1987, in Naples, Italy. He attended the Technical-Industrial Institute, with specialization Electronic and Telecommunication, achieving his diploma in 2005. In 2008 he began the faculty of Nautical and Aeronautical Sciences of the University of Naples “Parthenope” (Italy), specializing in Flight Management and Safety, and obtaining the bachelor’s degree in 2014, with a thesis titled “PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF A SINGLE ENGINE PROPELLED AIRCRAFT”, with valuation 110/110. In 2019, he obtained his master's degree in Science and Navigation Technology with valuation 110/110, with a thesis titled “EMBEDDED SYSTEM FOR PRECISION POSITIONING, OBSTACLE DETECTION AND AVOIDANCE FOR SMALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (UAS)”. In March 2017 he received a research grant from the University of Naples “Parthenope,” with the research topic “Augmentation techniques of data fusion from low-cost sensors data, for Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles”. In April 2024 He obtained Ph.D, with a thesis entitoled "URBAN AIR MOBILITY OPERATIONS: GROUND CONTROL STATION FOR UAS TRAFFIC SURVEILLANCE, PRECISION POSITIONING AND OBSTACLE DETECTION". Currently, He is Post-doc, and his main research topics are focused on precision positioning systems, navigation, and obstacles detection systems for UASs.
