Biography
Anthony is a Professor of Behavioural and Molecular Neuroscience at Cardiff University and the lead for the MURIDAE cluster within the new MRC National Mouse Genetic Network. He is interested in understanding the (epi)genetic mechanisms that underpin brain and behaviour, and how they can lead to neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disease. In particular, much of his work has focused on understanding how imprinted genes contribute to brain function. He has published work on mouse models for Prader-Willi, Kleefstra, and Silver-Russell syndromes, as well as schizophrenia. Anthony did his first degree in Zoology and Genetics at the University of Sheffield, before working as a research technician at the University of Leicester. He completed his PhD and was then a research fellow at the University of Cambridge for 12 years, before moving to Cardiff in 2006.
