Biography

Dr. Nastassja Maree is the Dean of Academics at MasterStart, an online education provider based in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, she oversees the development and delivery of innovative, workplace-relevant learning experiences tailored for leading organisations. Dr. Maree is responsible for managing academic operations, ensuring that employees gain the practical, in-demand skills necessary for professional growth and career success. Her focus is on creating flexible, scalable learning solutions that align with the dynamic needs of modern businesses, driving workforce development and enhancing organisational performance.

Dr. Maree holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Psychology from the University of Pretoria. Her doctoral research explored the influence of group life-design-based counselling on learners' academic self-construction, utilising qualitative methods to investigate this area in depth. She also obtained a Master of Education degree, specialising in the Psychology of Learning.

Her previous experience includes serving as the Academic Operations Dean at Educor, where she oversaw all academic operations within the organisation. Prior to that, Dr. Maree held the position of Head of Department and Educational Guidance at a school, where she provided guidance and leadership in learning and development in the school environment.

Dr. Maree’s professional work reflects a deep commitment to advancing educational practices and supporting learners’ holistic academic development. She has a particular interest in career development, with a focus on the intersection of career counselling and education to help individuals successfully navigate their career paths. Her passion lies in empowering students and professionals to make informed career decisions, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future workforce.
