Biography
As a biochemist with a doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences, my career began with a volunteer position in a neurophysiology laboratory. There, I gained my initial skills in molecular biology and electrophysiology. During my PhD, I focused on elucidating the mechanisms that regulate the embryonic development of the cerebral cortex. My expertise expanded during my postdoctoral fellowship, where I worked on synaptic plasticity in various contexts. Currently, I lead the Neurodevelopmental Biology Unit at the Biomedical Sciences Research Laboratory. This laboratory is part of the Basic Sciences Department and Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC) in Chile.
