Biography

S.Y is at present a full-time professor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics at Shandong University in China. He obtained his doctoral degree (2015) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston under the guidance of Prof. Yi-chao Chen, his master’s degree (2012) in Solid Mechanics from Beijing Jiaotong University in China, and his bachelor’s degree (2009) in Physics from Sichuan University in China. He was a postdoc working in Professor Pradeep Sharma’s group at the University of Houston from 2016 to 2019. Later, he jointed Shandong University as a full-time professor. His research focuses on the nonlinear theory of electromechanical elasticity, the stability and bifurcation of the electromechanical behavior of soft materials, energy harvesting, and flexoelectricity.
