Biography

Joana M. L. G. Santos is a PhD student of Gerontology and Geriatrics (University of Aveiro & University of Porto, Portugal), a researcher at the Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS.RISE) and at the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro (IEETA), and a speech-language therapist at the otolaryngology service of a central hospital in Portugal. Joana holds a Master of Science in Speech Therapy (University of Aveiro) and a post-graduate diploma on Swallowing Disorders (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona & ESSD). Her current research is focused on aspiration pneumonia in older adults at risk of oropharyngeal dysphagia.
