Biography

Maria de Lurdes Santos Gonçalves is the Pedagogical Coordinator of the Portuguese Foreign Teaching in Switzerland since 2013. She is responsible for the Portuguese Heritage Language teaching staff and her main responsibilities include curriculum planning, teacher professional development and teacher evaluation.
She holds a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures – English and German Studies by the Arts Faculty of the University of Lisbon (1987), a Masters Degree in Curricular Management by the University of Aveiro (2002) and a PhD in Language Didactics by the University of Aveiro (2011). She is also a member of the Research Centre “Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers, University of Aveiro, Portugal.
Her research interests include curriculum management, teacher professional development, plurilingual and intercultural education, and heritage language education. She shares her research in various national and international conferences and publishes her work regularly.
