Biography
Ezinne Sylvia MELIKAM holds a BSc and an MSc in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2004), and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria (2008). She also holds a master's in Public Health degree from the University of Abomey Calavi, Republic of Benin, in 2018 and an MSc in Applied Health Research and Evaluation, obtained from Clemson University, USA, in 2022. Her research focus includes cardiovascular diseases, non-communicable diseases (risk factors for stroke and cancer), health promotion, health education, and biostatistics. Miss Melikam was the Program Manager on the multi-center Stroke Investigative Research Education Network (SIREN) Project (the largest study on stroke in sub-Saharan Africa) funded by the National Institutes of Health. She has several publications which she wrote in collaboration with other researchers. Miss Melikam is passionate about research geared toward improving the average life expectancy of individuals from underserved communities. She looks forward to collaborating with other researchers on multidisciplinary research projects.
