Biography
Oscar Gonzalez is a seasoned professional in the medical field and clinical research field. He has been employed at industry-leading medical device manufacturers like Zimmer Biomet and Curonix, focused on multiple therapeutic areas, including craniofacial, thoracic surgery, and, more recently, neuromodulation of chronic pain.
Before devoting his time to the medical industry, in early 2012, Oscar served in the US Army, providing medical support to combat troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for his service in 2006 and honorably discharged after fulfillment of 7 years of service.
To his Medical Degree, completed in Cuba (place of birth), Oscar added another doctorate degree to his curriculum. The Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP), with a focus on drug development and translation research, was awarded to Oscar from the University of Miami, giving him the uncommon credentialing of MD, DNP, and the wonderful experience of practicing in the entire scope of patient care. Oscar's personal mission always has been aligned to improve the health and healthcare of human beings by actively seeking new approaches to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. The reason why, Oscar also completed a master's in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. Oscar has been recognized multiple times for his contribution to medical research throughout his career and was directly involved in the development and completion at Zimmer Biomet of the 522 study issued by the FDA in 2011 on TMJ replacement.
In addition to being a busy consultant, Oscar is part of the Disaster Action Team at the local chapter of the Red Cross in Jacksonville, Florida, where he currently lives with his wife, son, and daughter.
