Biography
Jakub Pawlikowski, M.D., Ph.D., J.D., M.A.: graduated in medicine (M. D., Ph.D. habilitation thesis in Medical University of Lublin, Poland), law (doctor of juristic science, Catholic University of Lublin) and humanities (Master of Philosophy, Catholic University of Lublin). Specialist in Public Health. He had been working as an assistant professor at Department of Ethics and Human Philosophy at Medical University of Lublin (2008-2016), then was a Head of Department of Sociology of Medicine, Department of Ethics and Medical Law and Department Social Medicine at Medical University of Lublin (2016-2019) and a Dean of Medical Faculty at Cardinal Wyszynski University at Warsaw (2019-2020). He was also a Visiting Associate Professor at T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, Boston, USA (2016-2017). His research interests concentrate on medical ethics, medical law, biobanking, sociocultural determinants of health, spirituality in healthcare and public health. He is also a member of Transparency Council in Polish Agency for Health Technology Assessment (since 2013); Scientific Board of the National Institute of Cardiology (since 2021). He is also a coordinator of ELSI (ethical, legal, societal issues) program in Polish Node of BBMRI.ERIC (Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure - European Research Infrastructure Consortium).
