Graduated studies
1. He graduated the University of Craiova in 1991, Faculty of Sciences, Mathematical Specialization (5 years).
2. During 1991-1997 he was PhD candidate at the Moldavian State University, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (he obtained a PhD student scholarship from the Romania). He graduated the PhD in Physics and Mathematics on December 19, 1997, under the coordination of Professor Petru A. Cojuhari, with thesis title „The spectrum of some integro-differential operators”.
3. The PhD diploma was equivalated by the Romanian Ministry of Education. This validation was made based on analysis of scientific results obtained in thesis by the official reviewers from University of Bucharest, Faculty of Mathematics.
4. In May 21, 2010 he sustained the second PhD in Mechanical Engineering field, under the coordination of Professor Băgnaru Dan Gheorghe, with thesis title „Contributions to the study of static and dynamic behaviors of the bars and plates built from composite materials”.
5. From April 13, 2017, he obtained the Habilitation Certificate in Mechanical Engineering field, after sustaining the habilitation thesis on January 13, 2017, with title „Theoretical research and experimental validation on mechanical behavior of some composite materials”, at the IOSUD - University of Craiova.
Results
He studied the mechanical behavior for composites with unidirectional oriented reinforcement and proposing more methods for determining the elasticity characteristics, that took into account the components continuity of stress and strain tensors of the separation surfaces between the material phases. He made a global appreciation of the elasticity tensor characteristics by taking into account the interrelationships that appear between the stresses and strains. He researched the mechanical behavior for: composites with randomly distribution of the reinforcement, in this case making researches on materials that has as reinforcement the fiber glass and wheat straw; multilayered composites, by proposing an analytical model that gives similarities between the two homogenization theories; sandwich types composites with polypropylene honeycomb core and polystyrene; bio-composites with Dammar based matrix and reinforced with natural fibers, such as: cotton, flax, silk, hemp. He researched the influence of non-uniformities over the mechanical properties, elastic and strength ones, for composites reinforced with various fabrics. He inserted a uniformity factor whose values give indications over the nature and dimensions of some materials defects. He researched the vibrations damping for bars and plates, by determining the eigen-pulsations and damping factors.
Visibility
The research results have materialized in publishing over 58 papers in ISI ranked journals with impact factor, over 17 studies in ISI ranked Proceedings and many papers and studies in BDI journals. ISI papers citations given it a 12 value of Hirsch index. He obtained two patents. He participated as a scientific responsible at 2 national projects of innovation-development-research, obtained through competition, and was a member in other 7 projects of this kind and a member in one international project.
