Biography

Marine geophysicist with main research interests in tectonic and palaeoenvironmental history of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. Research effort in recent years has been directed mainly to reconstructing and understanding the late Quaternary behaviour of the Antarctic Ice Sheet, particularly in the southernmost Pacific and Weddell Sea sectors. Participated in 23 Antarctic and sub-Antarctic research cruises, several as Chief Scientist.
