Thermophysical properties; viscosity; vibrating wire; high viscosity reference fluids
Portugal

Biography

Researcher of Centro de Química Estrutural, Instituto Superior Técnico Universidade de Lisboa.

Present Research Interests:

Thermal Energy Storage at low temperatures, mainly involving Phase Change Materials.
Design and development of new methods and instruments for the measurement of thermophysical properties of fluids, in particular, viscosity, density and thermal conductivity.
The work is aimed at providing data with an accuracy fit for selected applications. In general, the main purpose is to enable the development of better property prediction, estimation, and correlation methods, for the design and modelling of scientific and industrial equipment.
A fundamental driving force of the work is the need for a better understanding of the relation between molecular interactions and the thermophysical properties of matter.
