Biography
I am Dr. Arjunan Karuppaiah, Associate Professor from PSG College of Pharmacy (India), I have completed my PhD in Novel Drug Delivery Systems Laboratory (PSG College of Pharmacy), Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, India. My PhD research was about "Synthesis, characterization and preclinical evaluation of silver nanoparticles for the treatment of breast cancer”. During my graduate studies, I have hands-on experience working on many instruments in the synthesis and formulation of nanoparticles in addition to testing the efficacy of the formulations on in-vitro and in-vivo breast cancer models. I have co-authored 27 publications in SCI-indexed journals. Additionally, I have written few successful grants to attract some funds for my laboratory in addition to generating many experimental results for external consultancy projects demanded on a contract service basis to various universities, colleges and pharmaceutical companies. I have also handled both theory and practical classes for Pharmacy undergraduate students in the faculty.
Over the period of my graduate studies till date, I have designed, performed and reported the experiments pertaining to the development of various nanoformulations like synthesizing polymeric, metallic (like silver and gold) and lipid nanoparticles. Moreover, I have working experience on bioconjugation chemistry and analytical characterization of bioconjugates. Additionally, I have experience in developing formulations with APIs and active principles from plants.
