Biography
Dr. Fiseha Tesfaye is a Process Metallurgist at Metso Metals Oy, Adjunct Professor (Docent) in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Ã…bo Akademi University, and Associate Editor of JOM (Springer Nature). He received his M.Sc. (Tech.) degree in materials processing technology and D.Sc. (Tech.) degree in metallurgy from Aalto University. Dr. Tesfaye supervises both graduate and undergraduate theses and lectures on chemical and metallurgical courses. His research activities are mainly focused on the thermodynamic investigation of inorganic material systems for promoting improved renewable energy production and cleaner extraction and recoveries of metals from complex raw materials. In 2018, Dr. Tesfaye was also appointed as a Visiting Research Scientist in Seoul National University, South Korea.
Dr. Tesfaye is an active member of TMS - The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society, and is a winner of the 2018 TMS Young Leader Award. He serves as a Chair of the TMS Energy Committee and as a Guest Editor of MDPI journals (Energies and Processes), and edited several scientific research books. His personal research achievements include remarkable improvement of experimental research applying the solid-state electrochemical technique for thermodynamic investigations of inorganic materials, as well as noticeable contribution for promoting the move towards the circular economy.
