Biography
Raouf Emile Baddour is a professional civil engineer and a professor emeritus who obtained a PhD from McGill
university in 1978. He has been a professor in the Dept of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western University in London, Canada since 1979. He also served as Dept Chair and Associate Dean Academic of the Faculty of Engineering.
Professor Baddour is a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE), Life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Senior member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR). He is the recipient of research and teaching awards including the CSCE Keefer medal and Western University Pleva Award. He also served as Chair of the ASCE Turbulence Committee and Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Engineering Mechanics.
Professor Baddour research work and teaching are related to Environmental Hydraulics. He published over the years 100+ Journal and Conference papers. His current projects are focusing on stratified flows and the design of polynomial weirs with applications in water resources engineering, agricultural engineering and stormwater management.
