Biography
Dr. Muñoz-Aguilar has around 20 years of experience working in the control and software of power electronic converters from few kilowatts up to Multi-MW power range. It includes DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/DC and AC/AC converters for grid integration of renewable energy systems, grid support and also for automotive applications.
In particular, in the inverter case focusing in grid-feeding, grid-supporting algorithms and traction systems; for the DC/DC working in applications for MPPT in PV systems, energy storage for grid-support, fuel cell and battery management in automotive applications.
With experience in modeling, simulation, control design, system architecture, software architecture and implementation with HiL, PiL and RTS platforms and also in the implementation in DSP, FPGA and SoC.
He has been leading international teams with multiple countries location as manager, team lead, technical lead, system lead and project manager as well for industrial and automotive applications. It let him apply his intercultural communication skills managing projects and leading people, including administrative, disciplinary, technical and budgetary planning and execution.
He has been leading the project acquisition for several customers (OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2), including technical and economical internal alignments and with the customers in Europe, Asia and America.
He has several patents and a good publication record with some awards for them. Then, he has a broad experience publishing, disseminating results and presenting them in conferences and lectures
In addition to that, he has been working in public and private funding projects for developments in power electronics and its control for the future grid and e-mobility systems.
With more than 8 years on university teaching including subjects as: Electrotechnics, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics and Instrumentation.
His areas of interest include: power electronics, electrical drives, renewable energy systems, electrical machines and nonlinear control systems among others.
