Biography

Alda Pereira is Associate Professor (retired) at Universidade Aberta (UAb), the Portuguese Open University. She is an integrated researcher at UID-FCT nº 4372, Laboratory of Distance Education and eLearning (LE@D) - Universidade Aberta (Portugal). She is editor of Journal of Distance Education and eLearning (RE@D) published by Laboratory of Distance Education and eLearning (RE@D).
She has been the scientific coordinator of LE @ D between 2007 and 2010 and coordinated in UAb the Doctoral Program in Education and the Master in Multimedia Educational Communication. She has been vice-rector in 2010 and 2011 and Director of the Department of Educational Sciences from 2004 to 2006. She has been Director of the UAb Research Institute from 2009 to 2013. She is author of Pedagogical Model for online teaching programs coordinated the team that conceived the Pedagogical Model at UAb. She has developed and taught online, graduate and undergraduate courses, as well as conducted research on online education, learning communities and online assessment models and practices.
