Biography

Dr Azreen Hamiza Abdul Aziz is a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. She holds a Ph.D in Islamic Service Management from USM, Penang. She used to work at Kuwait Finance House (M) Berhad as a Portfolio Analyst Executive. Her research now is focuses mainly on Islamic tourism & hospitality as well as Islamic banking & Finance. Specifically, her expertise is focusing on the area of Muslim-friendly tourism, Islamic hospitality management, Islamic service management as well as Islamic capital market. With numerous research projects in hospitality and tourism, Dr Azreen Hamiza intends to explore the potential of Muslim Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH). She initiated the research on conceptualising Islamic Hospitality Management by embedding Islamic philosophical underpinning in her research. She actively involves and participate in the tourism community engagement, tourism industry and stakeholders as well as in tourism research. At the moment, she is the group leader for the training in occupational skills, analysis and Shari'ah compliance for Halal Studies in Services, Research and Training (HasRAT@USM) cluster.
