Dr. Huang's research focuses on “Resilient & Sustainable Civil Infrastructure” enabled by (I) Advanced and Sustainable Concrete Materials [e.g., engineered/strain-hardening cementitious composites (ECC/SHCC), ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), and alkali-activated materials (AAM)], (II) Composite Structures [e.g., functionally graded and sandwich structures], and (III) Smart Construction Technologies [e.g., stay-in-place permanent formwork, shotcrete, and prefabricated construction].
