Biography

Dr. Bharat Singh Thapa is an academician and professional with expertise in the fields of microfinance, financial inclusion, and corporate finance. As an Assistant Professor at the Central Department of Management, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, he brings over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and management consulting.

He holds a Ph.D., having successfully completed a dissertation on the "Socio-Economic Impact of Microfinance in Nepal." His commitment to education extends beyond Nepal, as he serves as a visiting professor at the University of Padova, Italy. At the University of Padova, he imparts knowledge on Microfinance for Local Development to MA students in the School of Human and Social Science and Cultural Heritage. Additionally, he contributes as an Academic Board Member to the International Ph.D. program at the University of Padova.

With a prolific record, Dr. Thapa has authored and presented numerous research papers and articles in various reputable journals, magazines, and newspapers. His research interests span a wide range, including corporate finance, microfinance, financial inclusion, climate change, financial literacy, personal finance, and capital markets.

Beyond academia, Dr. Thapa actively engages in supporting financial institutions in Nepal. He provides training and advisory services in areas such as social change through microfinance, financial inclusion, financial literacy, and investment banking. As an independent director on the Board of Prabhu Capital Ltd., he contributes to the strategic direction of the organization.

Dr. Thapa's dedication to advancing the field is evident through his involvement with key institutions. He offers his expertise to the National Banking Institute (NBI) and the Nepal Rastra Bank, the Central Bank of Nepal, through research and training initiatives. He is a valuable member of the research committee at NBI.

To enhance his teaching and research skills, Dr. Thapa has undertaken training and short courses from prestigious institutions, including Harvard Business School in Boston (MA, USA), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, and the University of Padova, Italy.
