Biography
Yue-Ting (Ting) Siu, TVI/COMS, Ph.D, is a Teacher of Blind and Low Vision Students (TVI) and coordinates the Northwest Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT-NW) at the WA State School for the Blind (WSSB). She has 20 years of experience working with students with visual impairments including deafblindness and extensive support needs. As an NLCSD Fellow, she earned her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. Ting’s mission is to advance TVIs’ proficiency with access technology, promote innovations in multimedia accessibility, and inspire new “techie TVIs”. She is a frequent collaborator on OSEP, NSF, RERC, and SBIR grants, and consults in the following areas: research and design of inclusive technologies, community education to implement accessible instruction, and training to facilitate access and technology in the classroom.
