Biography

Mark is Founder and CEO of Vitaccess - a patient-centric research organization.

He founded Vitaccess with the aims of harnessing the power of digital technology to better represent the patient voice in drug development and market access, as well as collaborating with fellow experts to provide realistic, experience-based market access and health economics and outcomes research consultancy.

Mark is at the helm of the cross-functional teams delivering Vitaccess’ pioneering real-world evidence studies. He has been a key member of the design team for our Vitaccess Real™ digital platform, enabling fast, global, and inclusive real-world research. He has also built successful relationships with a global range of patient advocacy groups and clinical key opinion leaders, to ensure our studies are created collaboratively, with patients at the forefront.

He continues to pioneer new methodologies. Recent work involves leveraging digital RWE registries across an ever-widening range of use cases, exploring with EuroQol the use of their new EQ-5D bolt-on questions to better quantify patient experiences in rare diseases, and complementing health technology assessment submissions with unique RWE gathered via Vitaccess Real.

Mark has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, specializing in European pricing and reimbursement for the last seven years. He was a founding partner of a specialist market access consultancy, leading European and global projects across a broad range of therapeutic areas.

He is technical advisor on a number of multi-stakeholder scientific advisory boards for global digital patient registries, and a regular speaker on digital health at conferences and webinars. He has published widely, focusing on the humanistic and economic impacts of diseases and therapies on patients’ lives.

Mark has particular expertise in incentive and reward frameworks to drive engagement in digital RWE studies, drawing from his PhD research on causality judgement and associative learning at the University of Cambridge. He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Cambridge.
