Biography

Full Professor of Archaeology in the Department of History of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. Head of the Unit of Archeology of Minho University.
PhD in History (specialization in Pre-History and Ancient History) by the University of Minho Portugal (1987). Graduated in History by the University of Lisbon, Portugal (1977).
Since 1988 she is responsible for the Urban Archaeological Project of Bracara Augusta, an institutional project of the Unit of Archeology of Minho University and researched in the areas of urbanism, roman construction and architecture. Other scientific interests are Landscape and settlement archaeology, archaeological and cultural heritage and TICs applied to Archaeology.
Supervisor or co-supervisor of eleven PhD thesis (eight concluded), twenty nine MSc thesis (twenty five concluded) and four graduate Post Doc students.
Principal investigator of seventeen projects, eight international (five funded by EU) and nine national (five funded by FCT).
