Biography
I obtained my Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Biotechnology in 2016 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG), graduating with a Cumulative Performance Index (C.P.I.) of 9.06. I then pursued my doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Rajaram Swaminathan, culminating in a Ph.D. from IITG in 2023. My dissertation, titled "Analyzing Charge Transfer Spectra Arising From Non-Aromatic Amino Acids in Proteins, Aggregating Peptides, and Viral Capsid Assemblies," explored the optical properties and charge transfer phenomena in these systems.
Currently, I am engaged in postdoctoral research at Linköping University, Sweden, where I am developing functionalized protein-based luminescent materials. This work aims to advance the application of biological materials in lighting technologies and further explore their potential in various optoelectronic applications.
My research focus:
1. Develop sustainable protein-based fluorescent lighting materials and enhance the luminescent properties of proteins-hybrids to create innovative light-emitting systems.
2. Investigating the novel intrinsic luminescence observed in self-assembled peptides and supramolecular protein assemblies due to electron charge transfer.
Core competencies:
Bacterial Cell Culture; Protein Expression and Purification; Peptide aggregation; Self-assembly; Viral core protein capsid assembly; Bioconjugation: Protein surface modification and labeling with fluorescent organic dyes; Protein structural characterization; Light Microscopy; Charge Transfer in proteins, Fluorescence; Hydrogels; Bioplastics; Sol-gel transition; Functionalized Protein-based material; Mechanochemistry; Microfluidics; Bioinformatics.
