Biography
Currently hired as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington University in St. Louis, Cristian A. W. Villas Boas assists in developing new radiopharmaceuticals for diagnosing and treating Glioma, Prostate Cancer, Lung Cancer, and Breast Cancer. Cristian A. W. Villas Boas has two years of experience in organic synthesis and six years of experience in radiolabeling peptides and proteins. Part of Cristian’s abilities is cell culture, plasmid preparation, establishing in vivo mouse tumor models, and carrying out in vitro and animal experiments, such as imaging studies (PET/CT), dosimetry, and biodistribution studies. In addition, Cristian has experience in radiolabeling with copper-64, copper-67, gallium-68, zirconium-89, yttrium-90, technetium-99m, indium-111, and lutetium-177.
Cristian was a Ph.D. fellowship at IPEN (Nuclear and Energetic Research Institute, 2017-2020). The main goal of the doctoral project was to develop the radiolabeling of [177]Lu-PSMA-617, carry out scale-up studies with therapeutic doses, and study in vitro and in vivo the effect of lutetium-177 carrier-free and non-carrier-free. Cristian is graduated in Pharmacy (Faculdade Oswaldo Cruz, 2005-2010) and has a master's degree (Universidade Anhanguera de São Paulo, 2011-2013). Also, Cristian is specialized in Business Management (SENAC, 2015-2016).
Cristian worked as a professor in the specialized course of Clinical Pharmacy at Oswaldo Cruz Faculties (2014-2015).
Cristian has experience in the field of Pharmacy, with an emphasis on organic synthesis, radiopharmacy, and molecular imaging.
Cristian was a member of the Advisory Committee on Radiopharmacy by the Regional Council of Pharmacy of the State of São Paulo, Brazil (2018-2022). Currently, Cristian is a member of the Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences. Since February 2023, Cristian has been the coordinator of the Postdoc Peer Mentorship Program at Washington University in St. Louis.
