Biography
Dr Alireza Nouri is currently a senior power system researcher at UCD. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from KNT University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2006, and the M.Sc. degree in power system management and control from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2010. He successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Improvement of Auction and Settlement Mechanisms for Co-optimization of Payments to Suppliers for Energy and Spinning Reserve” and obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Sharif University of technology, Tehran, Iran.
His current research interests include: energy system management and control, optimization in power systems, planning in smart grids, designing new electricity markets, demand response programs and risk analysis.
He was also the chief programmer and presenter of national transmission expansion planning project, funded by board of Iranian power market, Ministry of Energy, where a software was developed for transmission expansion planning under the uncertainties associated with future plans decided for new loads and generations.
