Biography
Murat Can GENÇ was born in Trabzon in October 1982. He graduated from Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) with B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2003, 2006 and 2011, respectively, and is currently a professor in the Department of Economics at KTU. He is interested in the question of the reasons for the differences in economic development between nations and has been writing and lecturing in the field of Economic Growth and Development. His Ph.D. Thesis dealt with the question of how regionalism affects trade flows of the world economy. In the thesis, he applied the Gravity Model to detect the impacts of new regionalisation on trade flows in the world. He has been also publishing studies in the field of applied economics using time-series and panel-data methods.
