Biography
Noémie is a post-doctoral researcher in Hasselt University (Belgium) where she conducts research on research assessment and research culture, and Research Associate at the University of Manchester where works on Open and Reproducible Research. She is originally from Québec (Canada) where she studied cognitive neurosciences and psychiatry but quickly became uneasy with academia's pressure to publish and competitive atmosphere. In an attempt to tackle these problems, Noémie undertook a PhD at Hasselt University during which she explored different stakeholder’s perspectives on the impact that research assessments have on research practices and integrity. Noémie’s post-doctoral research continues on this topic, complemented with her participation in the SOPs4RI project from 2021 to 2023 — a European Commission project that aims to build a toolbox to help research institutions and funders build procedures and environments that promote research integrity. Noémie also contributes to several projects and networks aiming to improve research assessments and research culture.
