Biography
Completed Forest Engineering studies in 1990 and obtained a Master's in Forest Sciences in 2003, both degrees achieved at the Faculty of Forest Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. Completed a Ph.D. in Biology and Wood Technology at Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, in 2007.
Has a PROMEP profile and is a member Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores, Level I. Served as a Lecture and Research Professor since 2015 at the Instituto de Silvicultura e Industria de la Madera (ISIMA) of Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango (UJED). Teaching responsibilities encompass courses such as Forest Industries, Forest Products, Specialized Wood Anatomy, and Solid Biofuels.
Actively involved in the Ibero-American Network for Industrial Thermal Efficiency (RIETI) and the IBEROMASA Network, both operating under the Ibero-American Program for Science and Technology Development (CYTED). Leads Line 2 (Characterization of Solid Biofuels) within the Solid Biofuels Cluster (CONACYT-SENER).
Supervises doctoral, master's, and undergraduate thesis projects. Additionally, serves as a reviewer for indexed journals including Agrociencia, American Journal of Plant Sciences, Forests, BioEnergy Research, Bioresources, Journal of Wood Chemistry and Technology, Madera y Bosques, Polymers, Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Forestales, and Revista Electrónica Nova Scientia. Holds editorial responsibilities for Energies, Agrociencias, and Madera y Bosques journals.
