Biography

Professor of Geology in the Department of Geology, University of Sulamani from Iraqi Kurdistan Region. He worked for 30 year in Zagros Orogenic Belt during which achieved more than 90 scientific papers about sedimentology, stratigraphy and tectonics of the belt. His recent works concentrated on refusal of presence of Ophiolite in the Zagros belt and he proved that what called previously Ophiolite and volcanic rocs are metamorphosed greywackes (mafic sandstone and conglomerates). Theses mafic sediments are derived from Orumieh Magmatic Arc and undergone several phases of metamorphism uplifts and reworking
