Biography
Aleksandar Fišteš, full professor from University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technology, holds the doctorate on technical sciences and it is engaged in teaching and research work in the area of Food Engineering. His scientific interest covers different areas such as: cereal quality and processing, valorization of food industry by products, functional food technology, food waste recovery and optimization and mathematical modelling of food processes. He mentored three PhD thesis and 13 master thesis. So far, he was actively involved in 16 scientific-research projects. As a project leader he coordinated two projects entitled "Valorization of by-products of the food industry through the development of nutritionally enriched cookies and crackers" funded by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development of AP Vojvodina, Serbia, "Technological procedure for valorization of by-products of cereals, sugar beet, fruit and oilseeds processing through the development of confectionery and bakery products" funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Serbia, and "Development of innovative chocolate products fortified with bioactive compounds" which is being supported under the Collaborative Grant Scheme (CGS) for R&D Organizations and Private Sector Enterprises. The CGS Program is implemented by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia and is financed by the European Union the Republic of Serbia. He participated in one TEMPUS project with Wageningen University, Netherlands and University of Debrecen, Hungary and two Erasmus+ project with the Faculty of Food Technology, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. Also he was engaged as MC substitute in COST Action: CA15223 - Modifying plants to produce interfering RNA. His professional training was also realized through a study visit to the Southwest Agricultural University, Chongqing (2002) and Henan University of Technology, Zhengzhou (2016) in the framework of the scientific-technical cooperation with the People's Republic of China, Institute of Postharvest and Food Sciences, Volcani Agricultural Complex, Israel (2017), Research and Information System for Developing Countries, New Delhi, India (2018), and Mae Fah Luang University, School of Agro-Industry, Chiang Rai, Thailand (2019). He was a member of organizing committee of 1st International Conference on Advanced Production and Processing, ICAPP 2019 (Novi Sad, Serbia) and member of scientific committee for International Conference on Food and Biosystems Engineering 2017 (Rhodes Island, Greece) and XVII International Feed Technology Symposium 2016 (Novi Sad, Serbia). He has published more than 120 papers in the field of food engineering in leading international (27 in the journals form SCI list) and national scientific journals and participated in number of international and national scientific and professional meetings.
