She graduated cum laude in Environmental Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2006 with a thesis titled “Project of a road embankment made of lime stabilized soil” and in 2010 she got her Ph.D. Degree in “Materials, waters and soils Engineering” (PhD dissertation: “In-depth analysis of the behaviour of soil lime mixtures”).
From then on she cooperated with SIMAU Department (ex-FIMET Department) of Technical University of Marche, as Post-doc fellow and later as Researcher (RTD-A since 2016, RTD-B since 2021) in the field of Environmental Geotechnics, mainly carrying out the research in:
- lime stabilized soils and related in-situ and laboratory activities,
- contaminant migration in subsoil and porous media and sanitary-environmental risk assessment for polluted sites,
- management and consolidation of dredged sediments,
- stability issues in landfill construction,
- lime treatment of Finnish sensitive clayey soils, cooperating with Tampere University of Technology.
She is appointed lecturer of the “Ground Improvement” Master course for students of Civil Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche since 2016 and of the "Environmental Geotechnics" Master course for students of Environmental Engineering since 2025, she also lectured at seminars, professional training courses and Master courses concerning her research activity. She supervised or co-supervised more than 40 Thesis among Master and Bachelor Thesis. Since 2019 member of the Faculty board of the Doctorate School in Civil, Environmental, Building Engineering and Architecture and currently Quality Manager of the Civil and Environmental Engineering course.
