Cuba

Biography

Born in Matanzas, Cuba, in 1976. Graduated with a bachelor in Mechanical Engineer, in 1999, and with a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Processes, in 2005, both from the University of Matanzas. Since 2010 he has been a Full Professor and currently directs the Centre for Advanced and Sustainable Manufacturing Studies at the University of Matanzas. His research interests focus on smart manufacturing, sustainability, and applied artificial intelligence. He is the author of more than fourty scientific articles and contributions to books. He has participated in the development of ten registered software products. He coordinates the Ph.D. programme in Industrial Technologies and Processes and is a member of the academic committees of the Master programmes in Computer Aided Engineering and in Power Technology. He is a member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, the Technical Advisory Council of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Cuban Union of Computer Scientists, the Cuban Society of Mathematics and Computing, the Mexican Society of Materials and the Economic Society of Friends of the Country. He also belongs to the editorial committee of two international scientific journals.
