Biography
Viruses are the most abundant and diverse biological entities in our planet. So far poorly understood in the environment, viruses have a profound influence in global biogeochemical cycles, microbial ecology, and animal and plant health. My work focuses on trying to unveil that invisible viral matrix that surrounds us, and understand the ecological and evolutionary interactions between viruses and their hosts.
