Biography

Ms. Giulia Stefani graduated in Civil Engineering (LM-23) at Sapienza University of Rome in 2017.
She received the PhD degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome in 2021.
Currently she is a Research Fellow at the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome.
The main research interests of Giulia Stefani refer to impact dynamics, structural control and earthquake engineering. She investigated the effectiveness of inter-story disconnection as passive control strategy for the mitigation of the response of base-excited structures, using an energy-based approach. Currently she is studying the dynamics of base isolated vibro-impact single-degree-of-freedom systems with deformable and dissipative constraints, through experimental tests on small scale physical models and analytical-numerical simulations.
