Biography

Prof. dr. Trunk Širca holds a PhD in management in education. She is a member of numerous committees, e.g. the Professional Council of the RS for General Education, the Council for Higher Education, the European Educational Research Association and she is also working as an evaluator for the 7th FP and H2020. Her research fields are higher education, management and policy in education, quality assurance and evaluation studies, life-long learning concept and recognition of prior learning, education and labour market, knowledge management. In recent years, her main focus in the area of HE is on the topics of LLL and employability, financial literacy, EU integration in the area of education, active EU citizenship, social inclusion, and internationalisation and modernization of HE systems in EHEA and outside EHEA (mainly South countries of European Neighbourhood Policy). She also has many experiences coordinating projects, funded through LLL: she was managing two JM learning at school projects, and she was a holder of the JM module EU-LAJF. In 2017 she became holder of JM chair - EU integration; European HE area and labour market; and holder of JM project - EU Integration and Financial Education; and in 2018 holder of JM module - EU Integration and Monetary Policies. She is also project leader of 2 KA3 projects in the field of Social inclusion through education, training and youth (one focused on inclusion of Roma/migrants in schools, another one with focus on social inclusion of unaccompanied minors in transition to adulthood).
Prof. dr. Trunk Širca published the results of the research as papers or chapters in monographs in many recognised journals with Scopus and SCI impact factor.
